Open Bets

Once you place a hedge, it sits in Open Bets until the game is played and the bets settle. This shows the open hedges for the day, the expected value of the set, and the two outcomes that can happen. The outcome you should root for, the one that wins you the most, is always shown on top.

You have placed your first hedge and you now have open bets. Let's unpack what that means.

When you have open bets, the thing you bet on has not happened yet. Once the game happens, your bet wins or loses, and the bets become settled. Because this is a brand new account and you just placed your first hedge, there are no settled bets yet. That comes later in the guide.

Your open hedges

My Bets lists your open hedges by day. Saturday carries $71 of expected value.

My Bets lists all of your open hedges for a given day. We bet on a Saturday game, so Saturday carries $71 of expected value.

Inside the hedge set you can see the expected value, $71, as well as the two discrete outcomes that can happen. In this example, if under 50.5 points hits in Kansas State vs Cincinnati we win $73. If it goes over 50.5, we win $68.

What to root for

I would rather win $73, so that outcome is on top. When you collapse the set, you always see the outcome you are rooting for, the one that wins the most money, on top. Here that is under 50.5 points, which wins $73 and has about a 38% chance of happening. That is what you root for.
